For the very first time, we’re bringing together authors you’ve been waiting to meet from across the country under one roof. Books in the Boot isn’t just a book event,it’s where literature meets Louisiana culture. We’re mixing great books with a whole lot of Louisiana flavor: second line dancing, zydeco music, wine tasting with the books, candle making, fun games like “Guess Who’s Behind The Mask,” door prizes, and plenty of chances to meet and connect with your favorite authors.

Black Romance Book Fest

The Black Romance Book Fest (BRBF) is a weekend-long celebration of books, storytelling, literacy, wellness, culture, and community.
Founded in 2024, BRBF is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing literacy, supporting mental and emotional wellness, strengthening communities, and expanding opportunities for Black storytelling. Through the power of books, BRBF creates transformative experiences that connect readers, authors, publishers, creators, educators, businesses, and industry leaders while celebrating stories that inspire, educate, and bring people together.

The Cali Author Takeover book event was created to bring readers and authors together, while exploring different locations within California. 2027 we are headed to the San Pedro, CA, a diverse coastal community.
Readers event tickets will be available August 01,2026. Join us at the Meet & Greet Friday evening, VIP lunch Saturday before the book expo, and Sunday Funday by the pool. This event will be inclusive to the Crowne Plaza.
